Formation of a Catholic Women’s Network in the Archdiocese

On Saturday, 20 July women from the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn met on a cold Saturday morning at Daramalan
College to bring to fruition the final steps in the formation of a Catholic Women’s Network. Women from the four rural
Deaneries have been included along the way to bring the Catholic Women Canberra Goulburn Consultation Team to this
point in the process.

All women will be invited to make nominations to the new group which will represent Catholic women across the archdiocese and will provide a link for all women of the archdiocese with information, prayer and support. The group will also provide a spearhead for advocacy of women’s role in the church wherever we can. The group is yet to be named and the next step in the process is to develop an information pamphlet to invite women to nominate those women they believe would contribute to this important group. All those nominated will be invited to an Information Day where more information will be shared and each person discern their level of involvement. It is hoped to establish an initial co-ordination group for a trail period.

Holy Spirit Parish was well represented at the meeting on Saturday.
