THE ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY NEEDS YOU

The local conference of St Vincent de Paul is looking to recruit new members to help us in our work of serving the needy in our parish.

We would particularly encourage younger people to consider joining us. When I first joined the Society over 30 years ago the people in our conference were mostly in their early thirties and, despite having young families, we managed to find time to serve the poor.

You can help us even if you can’t be a full member, as an auxiliary member.

Full members attend a one-hour meeting once a fortnight and deal with calls we get for assistance from people in Gungahlin over the following fortnight.

Auxiliary members don’t have to attend meetings and help us out from time to time with various things.

We will be holding an information meeting at 7pm on Tuesday 10 March at the church, so that people can find out a bit more about what the Society is and what it does. Everyone is invited.
We hope that you will consider coming along to the meeting. We would love to see you. If you can’t make the meeting but are interested in finding out more about the Society, you can contact, Mark – contact details are available in the parish newsletter.
