A Note of Thanks from Fr Jiss

Hello Dear friends of Holy Spirit Family,

I would like to start off with a quote that has always given me the strength at saying my farewells. “If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello”. The search of a new beginning is always guided by some of the best memories from the past. Even though it hurts me to leave all of you and take on this new venture in my life, I leave with a self-contentment of beautiful memories and bucket loads of friends. My life as a priest was ignited by the flames of the Holy Spirit and whichever path it shows; I follow. Life of a priest isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being.

While each and every one of you have left a remarkable impression in my heart, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Fr Mark Croker the parish priest for being a great friend, Ms Alison Weeks our PPC chair for being helpful and supportive, Ms Theivani Evers great blessing to my Priesthood and very creative in building up of parish, the parish staff members and PPC members who have always cared for me and managed to bring a smile on my face and all the parishioners who took me in as their own and made me believe there is more to the word family than just blood relations.

I pray nothing but the best for each and every one of you and remember life is full of obstacles but it’s always about how you did your best. Remember to nurture what you have; a healthy mind and body; a spiritual connection to God and finally embrace your relationship with all of God’s creations around you. My moto is simple, when it’s my time and I stand before God, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say to God, I used everything you gave me and lived as a simple human being. In my journey so far, I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel, so I hope I have touched your lives in the best way a spiritual being can.
