Fr Troy Bobbin

Dear parishioners of Holy Spirit Parish, and parents, students and staff of our Catholic schools across the Gungahlin region.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Parish Priest, Father Troy Bobbin, who died at Canberra Hospital last night.

This news will come as a great shock to many. The sudden progression of Father Troy’s illness has been difficult to comprehend, and in the days and weeks ahead our parish family will mourn the loss of a priest and good friend who gave so generously of himself in service to God and to our community.

A memorial Mass at Holy Spirit Parish today at 6pm
It will be celebrated by Fr Richard Thompson

Details of Father Troy’s funeral will be shared in the coming days.

A condolence book will also be available at all Masses this weekend for those who wish to leave a message for Father Troy’s family.

As we grieve together, may we also give thanks for Father Troy’s faithful priesthood, his gentle presence, and the many lives he touched through his ministry, here and also at St Gregory’s Parish Queanbeyan and those before that.

May the Lord whom he served so faithfully now welcome him into the fullness of eternal life.
