Sustainability Sunday – Season of Creation

This weekend Sustainability Sunday (weekend) coincides with the beginning of The Season of Creation (1 September to 4 October) when we pray and respond together to the cry of Creation.

The theme this year is ‘To hope and act with Creation’.

Here at Holy Spirit Church and St Francis Xavier Church, we are striving to raise the awareness to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Every small thing we do to help our environment is worthwhile.

Thank you to everyone who remembered to separate blister packs (see below) and to take the foam insert out of their lids and bring CLEAN lids.

We appreciate your support for Sustainability Sunday. So, remember to bring the following items to the Church as we continue to support Lids for Kids.

Medicine Blister packs
Lids for Kids would like us to separate the blister packs into those that are 100% aluminum and those that are aluminum with plastic.

Lids
The lids that Lids for Kids collect to make furniture etc are – milk, soft-drink and water bottle lids only. Please remove and discard the foam insert. All are to be CLEAN and DRY.

Lids for Kids also collect lids that have plastic inside and push-pull lids. They give these to schools for craft etc. If you are bringing these lids, please separate them from the milk, soft-drink and water bottle lids.
