From the desk of Fr Troy to the Faith Community of Holy Spirit Parish, Amaroo.
It has been a very exciting year with lots of activities going on so I have a few updates
for you.
- Parish Pastoral Council Chair, Alison Weeks is stepping down as chair of the PPC.
At the end of last year I asked Alison to take on the role of temporary Chair as
we prepare for our Parish Assembly, I promised her it would only be for six
months over a year ago. - I have asked John Mikita to take on the role as Chair which he was very will to
accept, Thanks John. See his note below
As the year draws to a close don’t forget to join us at OUR CHRISTMAS celebration on
the 13th December.

A Message from the New Parish Pastoral Council Chair
Dear friends,
I begin with a heartfelt thank you to Alison Weeks, who has stepped down as Chair of the Parish Pastoral Council after years of dedicated service. Alison’s leadership has been invaluable, from the Parish Survey and Assembly to establishing the Evangelisation Ministry and so much more. We’re grateful she’ll continue to play an active role in parish life.
I’m honoured to introduce myself as the new Chair of the Holy Spirit Parish Council. I’ve been part of our parish since its early days, and it’s a joy to see how our community continues to grow – now welcoming nearly 1,000 parishioners each week under the guidance of Fr Troy and Fr Eden.
A special thank you to our Parish Office team and all our wonderful volunteers who serve in ministries of music, liturgy, hospitality, youth, finance, and more. You truly embody our parish motto: “Empowered by the Spirit to Serve.”
As Chair, I look forward to working with the Council to support our priests and ensure Holy Spirit remains a welcoming, faith-filled community. I’ll also be keeping parishioners more informed about the work we do and how you can be involved.
